Every salary figure, skill, task and location on this site comes from one of the published datasets below. Each salary page states its source and data year, and the date its record was last updated in our database.

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)

Wage and employment figures

Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics supply median annual and hourly pay, the 10th, 25th, 75th and 90th percentiles, and employment counts by area. These are survey estimates published on an annual cycle.

Skills, tasks, technology, education and related occupations

O*NET provides the occupation definitions, O*NET-SOC codes, importance-rated skills, common tasks, technology used, job zones and related-occupation links shown on career pages.

Location reference data

Census geography and population data provide the state, city, metro area, county and population values used to describe each location.

How often data changes

The site reads from our own database rather than querying source APIs on each visit. Data is replaced in batches when a new release becomes available — for example when a new annual BLS wage file is published. This site does not display live or real-time pay data, and figures can lag the current market.

What we do not publish

No estimated, modelled or generated salary figures.
No job listings, employer-specific pay or user-submitted salaries.
No ratings or reviews of occupations or employers.
No claim that a related occupation guarantees a career transition — relationships come from the source dataset only.
